RURAL SUPERVISOR AND CANDIDATE WORKSHOP – ALBURY

                  1ST   JUNE 2019 - CANDIDATE WORKSHOP

This initiative is an STP Support Project funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health. The intention of the two-day workshop is to provide an opportunity for STP/IRTP Candidates and Supervisors to develop strong, cross-jurisdictional
rural health networks and enhance the quality of training and support provided to STP funded posts.

 

FRIDAY 31ST MAY 2019 11am – 4pm SUPERVISOR WORKSHOP

The one-day workshop for Supervisors will include an overview of workplace assessment, presented by RACMA Dean of Education Dr Lynette Lee.  There will also be a facilitated session on Managing Difficult Conversations and Constructive Feedback. This will be lead by Bruce Hughes from Method9, who has extensive experience in coaching groups in the finer arts of building effective working relationships.

CPD points will be accrued for attendance at the workshop.


FRIDAY 31ST MAY 2019 6pm WORKSHOP DINNER

All participating Supervisors and Candidates are invited to attend. MC – RACMA President Associate Professor Alan Sandford AM

Guest speaker – Air Vice-Marshal Tracy Smart, Commander Joint Health and Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force.

 

SATURDAY 1ST JUNE 2019 – 10am – 4pm CANDIDATE WORKSHOP

The one-day workshop for Candidates will include an opening panel discussion on Rural Career Planning and Progression. The panel will include Dr Glenn Davies, Dr Phillipa Hawkings, Dr Patrick Giddings and Associate Professor Rosemary Aldrich.  There will be a facilitated session on Crisis Management including a simulation exercise. This will be lead by David Hawkins from SOCOM, who has 30 years experience in issues management and crisis communication.

 2019 Victorian Young Australian of the Year, Dr Skye Kinder, will be the lunch time guest speaker. 

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is funded by the Federal Department of Health under the Specialist Training Program's (STP) Support Projects. The cost to attend the workshop and dinner is covered by STP Support Project funding.
