RACMA Continuing Professional Development Manual

RACMA provides an online CPD tool that enables members to maintain their CPD requirements for the College as full time medical administrators or clinician managers.The online CPD tool can be accessed by clicking here

RACMA recognises the important learning that is generated through participation in learning activities that are both formal and informal, through the College or through other providers or activities outside the College.

Member’s CPD activities are reviewed and endorsed by jurisdictional CPD Coordinators and the CPDC Chair to ensure compliance with the CPD activity requirements outlined in the RACMA CPD Manual.

There are two standards that members need to maintain:-

·         Standard 1 – Development of Professional Practice; Audit and Peer Review

·         Standard 2 – Continuing Medical Education; Self Directed; RACMA Education Activities; College Meeting Attendance & Participation

2017 CPD requirements - Australian Members ONLY

For 2017 the RACMA Board has approved transition arrangements for Standard 1 of the CPD standards which Fellows are no longer required to complete a mandatory audit or peer review. These two activities are now optional whilst the reivew of the RACMA CPD framework together with the Medical Board of Australia's PPF review is being undertaken.

Triennium Reporting Periods

Triennium reporting periods are no longer in place. All CPD activities are to be completed on an annual basis commencing from 1 January 2018. 


AHPRA/Medical Board of Australia Annual Audits

AHPRA have confirmed they will be conducting ongoing annual audits for all practitioners listed on the specialist register. Members will be contacted direct if they have been randomly selected by AHPRA for audit purposes.  The College is not advised by AHPRA who is being audited.

To ensure that you comply with the Medical Board’s audit requirements, you will need to supply a copy of your RACMA CPD Certificate AND a letter from RACMA confirming that we have audited your annual CPD activities and the accompanying evidence. It is important to note that the CPD Certificate alone will not be sufficient to meet compliance requirements of an AHPRA audit.
